In 1906, the first large Hungarian chilly retailer (with a capability of 3,
000 tonnes, the biggest in Europe) opened in Tóth Kálmán Street, Budapest, the machine was manufactured by the Ganz Works.
In 1894, Hungarian inventor and industrialist István Röck began to manufacture
a big industrial ammonia refrigerator which was powered by electric
compressors (along with the Esslingen Machine Works).
